Mike Nesmith put out a number of solo albums and did a lot in country music and experimental music. Notably Elephant Parts a long form production that included music videos, comedy routines and absurdity. It also was the source for “Cruisin’” which was a very frequently aired video on MTV all the way into early 1983. Hulk Hogan starred in this video and besides Da Ya Think Im Sexy and Bette Davis Eyes it's the first video i remember seeing, on a Betamax copy of Elephant Parts in 1982!!
They had a single “I remember the Feeling” that Mickey sang with a lot of gusto.

The Monkees reformed briefly in the late 80s and rode a renewed wave of Monkee Mania- their show was on every day in syndication- and their fans from the 60s and new fans crowded to see them.
Dolenz, Jones and Tork released a new album Pool It in 1987 which got some play on classic rock radio as well as the video on MTV, which was also showing old Monkees episodes.
